Application/Exam Requirements
4 years experience to qualify for contractor's exam. 3 years experience to qualify for journeyman's exam. Once pass exam and in order to receive contractor's license, you need workers' compensation insurance, $5,000 bond, and $50,000 liability insurance. If you do not to have the insurance or the bond, then license is consiered inactive and functions the same as a journeyman's license. Exam administered by: PSI Exams

Fees
Mechanical Contractor: $225 exam and license fee good for 1 year, but all licenses expire on June 30 each year. Journeyman: $75 exam and license fee good for 1 year, but all licenses expire on June 30 each year.
