The drastic effects of global warming have not even left weather. It had drastically changed the weather patterns in many countries. We have seen the prominent effect of global warming in ice glaciers that are melting at a rapid pace. Due to this phenomenon the sea water levels rise and this could pose a danger to coastal cities and towns.

However the harmful effects of global warming have also affected the weather patterns. The air is warmer because of the entrapment of poisonous gases such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Hence the summers are getting longer and the winters are getting shorter. The poisonous gases in the atmosphere also affect the rain. Hence the rain water is not totally pure but infested with pollutants and chemicals. Such rain is called acid rain.

The average temperature all over the world has increased considerably in the last 20 years. The areas that experience light snow may not experience any snowing in the next few years. The snowlines in the mountain ranges in the temperate regions have shrunk considerably.

Some countries have started experiencing spring a little bit too early since the last couple of years. The atmosphere in coastal areas has become humid because of the rising temperature of the sea and the water having higher amount of evaporation. The rainfall tends to increase with greater humidity. Even the chances of hurricanes, tornados and strong winds increase manifold. The perfect example is of Hurricane Katrina that damaged property worth millions of dollars and swept away thousands of lives. The dry regions are becoming drier. This is the case happening with semi arid regions in Africa.

The hurricanes will become stronger because of the imbalance if air pressure due to excess warming of air. In the future there would be chances of extreme cold weather as well. This phenomenon is called the El Nino effect and it may become more severe in the future. Today the weather patterns in many regions have become so unpredictable that even the weather scientists don’t know what lies ahead. Many people are having health concerns with the frequent changes in weather. Though there are many changes that were not in our hands we have contributed significantly to the negative effects in the weather patterns.
