When a square meter of panel is exposed to direct sunlight it can produce a power of 125 watts. The panels work best in climates having an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The panels lose their efficiency in case the temperature is 50 degrees Celsius or more.

Hence you can expect the solar panels to lose about 20 percent of their capacity in higher temperature conditions. The panels are dark colored. You should stress on the temperature conditions in your area before going for polycrystal panels.

Hence we see that polycrystal panels have their own pros and cons but they are relatively less costly than monocrystalline panels. They have more advantages than disadvantages and hence they are quite popular in terms of demand.
