There are many people who think that using solar or wind power is only for the rich. However this is not true and every common man today can think of using solar and wind energy and save significant costs in the long run. Though solar and wind power equipments are expensive as of today people can even earn by using these energies by selling the extra power to energy grids for a price. Hence you are getting an incentive for protecting the environment.

And you can go ahead and install the green energy system as at least half of the states in the USA offer solar energy rebates and that soon offset the costs of the green energy systems. According to a report by Mackenna, New Jersey will offer rebates that will cover 50% of the retail costs for solar photovoltaic electricity.

People can now sell the extra power produced and keep a track of how much they have told with the help of a device called reverse matter. In this case you are not charged for the power that is drawn from the system but the utility monitors and then pays you for the power that you are putting back in the monitoring system. The system produces green energy which is first used by the electrical appliances in your house such as lights and fans. The power that remains after using the appliances will then pass through the special system. This extra power is used by the utility companies and then your account is credited by the proportionate amount either yearly or monthly.

There are some people who think that the utility companies should give more choices in case of payment terms. For example, most of the people would like a credit check to be disbursed to their home instead of crediting their account.

While there are other people who would want to decide for themselves how often they would like to be paid by the utility companies for providing green power to them. Another vital factor is the cost of setting up the system and the larger the home the costs will be more. The cost of a PV system on an average is around $50,000 which can drop to half the amount because of incentives and rebates provided by the government. However it is a good investment even in case of difficult economic times. According to a report by Mackenna the time of payback depends on certain factors such as cost of system, actual amount of rebates and original cost of electricity.
