Application/Exam Requirements
To qualify for the master exam you need 1 year of work experience as a licensed journeyman electrician. To qualify for the journeyman exam you need 4 years of work experience. You can use 2 years of Board-approved electrical education for 1 year of the work experience requirement. To qualify for the Class B electrician's license you need 18 months of work experience in farmstead or residential wiring. You can use 2 years of Board-approved electrical education for six months of the work experience requirement.
Fees
$50 for each master exam and license. $25 for each journeyman exam and license. $40 for each Class B electrician exam and license. All licenses expire March 31 each year.
