Application/Exam Requirements
Residential wireman - must have 4,000 hours of on-the-job training under the supervision of a master electrician or residential wireman and pass the residential wireman examination. Maintenance electrician - must have 8,000 hours of on-the-job training under the supervision of a master electrician or a maintenance electrician and pass the maintenance electrician examination. Residential Appliance Installer - Be at least 16 years old, and pass the residential appliance installer examination. Electrical apprentice - must be at least 16 years old and be assisting in installation of electrical work under the supervision of a master electrician
Fees
Residential Wireman: $63 exam, $25 license. Maintenance Electrician: $63 exam, $25 license, Residential Appliance Installer: $63 exam, $35 license. Residential Appliance Installation Contractor: no exam fee, $115 license. Electrical Apprentice: no exam fee, $20 license. Electrical Sign Apprentice: no exam fee, $20 license
