Application/Exam Requirements
To qualify for a journeyman exam, must have one of the following: 4 years experience and 240 hours of vocational training. You can substitute each year of experience (after the 4 years) for 80 hours of training, up to 200 hours, an associate degree from a Department-approved program and 2 years of experience, a bachelor's degree from a Department-approved program and 1 year of experience, 10 years of Department-approved experience. To qualify for a master exam, must have one of the following: 1 year of experience as a licensed journeyman, or 10 years of Department-approved experience.
