Limitations/Applicability
License is required for jobs of $50,000 or more. Bond required for 5% of the contract price with minimum bond amount of $1,000
Application/Exam Requirements
Submit references from licensed contractor, audited financial statement with net worth of $10,000, proof of insurance, and pass exam
Fees
Exam costs $100 for each classification you take an exam in. You also have to pay the Board $40 for study material for the business and law part of the exam. If you can prove you have a valid license in a trade in another state, you won't have to take the exam for that trade. You will still have to pass the business and law section though. A license costs $100 for any one classification and $95 for each additional classification. The maximum you can pay for a license in multiple classifications is $300. A license is good for one year. All licenses expire on December 31 each year. $400 surcharge for non-resident
